While philanthropic giving remains the core of Tondo Foundation, we understand that businesses can play a role in solving complex social problems. Therefore, we have the ability to allocate investments to support Asia based social entrepreneurs directly and in collaboration with fund managers.
For early-stage social enterprises (either for-profit or nonprofits) that are generating or will generate revenue primarily from products or services, we can provide loans up to US$500,000.
Funding provided is designed to be flexible, patient, and aligned with the success of your business. Loan repayment is linked to business operations and based on revenue generated from the sale of products or services in a given period. The funding does not require collateral, a personal guarantee, or equity.
We target a 0% (i.e. 1X) return on our investment as our main focus is on the impact your business model and activities can have on communities across South and Southeast Asia.
If we identify fund managers where there is overlap in values and investment mandates, we have the ability to invest in funds directly to support social enterprises and, ultimately, communities. We seek to identify and partner with values aligned fund managers that support social enterprises in South and Southeast Asia.
